April Showers Bring Pretty Tree Flowers

As my husband likes to remind me, 'this tree is only pretty two weeks out of the year!'. Well, tree, it's your two weeks, and you sure are pretty!!!

Oh, hello, city employee vehicles that park in front of my house while they tear up the entire street. Starting at 7:00 in the morning. Welcome!! Glad to have you!! **sarcasm**

The view from my little dudes bedroom window. Fresh. Awake. Thriving.

Too beautiful and bountiful not to share with the inside of the house. I love you tree. And I think you are beautiful all year round.

Have you hugged your tree today?

I might have.

Love,
HWM

Brian Williams. In my house!!

Little man: Momma? Can I pick out my outfit today?

Momma: Sure!

Little Man: Can I wear my tie? I haven't worn my tie for awhile.

Momma: Sure, why not!

Little Man: Do I look like Brian Williams on the news?

Momma: Well, yes you do!!

Little Man: *beaming*

And yes, he wore this outfit to school. With the exception of the hat. Any proper gentleman knows you remove your hat indoors. Okay. We are working on that.

My mini-man and my menu

First of all. We had a birthday. We are six now. And by we, I mean he:

He is convinced you only grow the night before your birthday. He thinks he woke up six inches taller. If that's the case, I'm really concerned. I'll be 9 feet 2 inches in August. Yikes.

Our menu this week looks like this:

SUNDAY: popcorn. always has been. always will be. and IZZE's. they are good. and local.

MONDAY: tacos

TUESDAY: tuna patties and steamed veggies

WEDNESDAY: hot wings on the grill

THURSDAY: baked spaghetti

FRIDAY: pork chops and wild rice

***totally random. I'm totally aware. totally***

All is good in the world

From this:

to this:

makes a this:

A FEW THINGS I'VE LEARNED THIS MONTH:

1. Asthma is a horrible, no good, very bad disease.

2. Asthma can kiss my ass. Thankyouverymuch.

3. I don't just want my husband. I NEED him.

4. Line drying should not be used on 40 mph wind days.

5. Finding your underwear in your neighbors trees is awesome. See #4.

Hospital time 2011

If I knew how to use my fancy iPhone, I would be able to rock a sweet post with pictures and everything.

But I ain't a very smart one.

Picture this. One flu/cold/asthma attacked little five year old boy. Tied to tubes and bells and whistles. Still smiling. Still playing. Happier than heck to be exposed to an xbox. Ready to be home but making the best of things.

Then there is crazy, psycho mom with guilt, anger, sadness, helplessness, no sleep, no coffee and no exercise. No sunshine either.

But I'm greatful. Because I am blessed.

I am married to a husband. And a daddy. The kind of daddy that takes the night shift. And doesn't sleep on the pull out couch. He crawls in bed with his little boy, to snuggle and soothe.

Thank you.

Day by day. Hour by hour.

I finally got my camera to work.  And decided to take a picture every hour on the 1/2 hour.  All day long.  I'm so super cool like that.

7:30 a.m:
I outdid myself this morning. I made a bowl of Blueberry Mini Wheats. He exclaimed "YES!!!" as I plopped the bowl down in front of him.

8:30 a.m:
Lunch? check. Backpack? check. Sleeping buddy? check. Nap blankie? check. hat/gloves/coat? check. smile? check.

9:30 a.m:
It's a long story on why I'm making meatballs at this hour. The short of it is this: I'm a workin' momma with not so normal hours. I make my two fellas dinner and have it waiting for them when they get home. I've been told that this is a really cool thing to do. I do it because I love them. I also do it because I do not want my baby eating doritos and dip for dinner every night.

10:30 a.m:
My guilty pleasue. My favorite girl is Elisabeth. They had Camille Grammar on the show today. I die.

11:30 a.m:
My commute. An exceptionally gray/snowy/frigid day in the Denver Metro Area. I was having difficulty finding a good radio station. Then I went to AM. That's how desperate I was.

12:30 p.m:
My work phone. My nemesis. Monday morning. I started with 17 new messages. Craziness. I work with men that have recently been released from prison.

13:30 hours
We roll in military time at the office. It's a habit. This is my BFF at work. Lots of times my BFF everywhere. Meet Leigh. She is pretty awesome. And she keeps secrets. Really really well.

14:30 hours:
Holy God. Quite possibly the worlds worst photo of me. In my own little office in my own little world. Living the dream.

1530 hours:
It's snowing out my office window. I do appreciate the natural light in this office. I would not do well without.

1630 hours:
The problem with this whole thing is that 140% of what I do is confidential. As much as I would LOVE to share pictures of my 'client's, I am unethically unable to do that. Hmm. Next time, I oughta do this on the weekend. Until then, here is me at work, holding up the wall.

1730 hours.
Breaktime. I'm catching up on emails/facebook/local news and my favorite blogs!!!!

1830 hours.
After meeting with 13 clients. Finding out school is cancelled tomorrow. Almost quitting time. Calgon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

'Tis the Season!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I bought this chandelier for myself for Chistmas.  And I love it.  I love it more than I love most things in life. That is not a totally bad thing.  Right???

I'll be back next week.  With a whole slew of resolutions, goals, plans and the unveiling of something wonderful.  Maybe.  Even.  A Giveaway!!!

Cleaning Machine

I have the day off (Thank you Veterans!) and I need to clean my house!! In a major way. So, I emailed my sister because she can motivate me. Check this out:

Me: i have tomorrow off. and i need to deep clean the house. i need a gameplan.
help.

Sister
: Well, you know you have to put in Dirty Dancing for background.
Crack open some windows for fresh air...and to blow the cobwebs out.
Light a good candle...maybe even go buy a new candle.
Start with bringing all dirty laundry downstairs, sort it, start a load.
Then go to the kitchen - clean out all the cruddy old food in the fridge, then
wipe it and the stove down.

Clean the rest of the kitchen and start the dishwasher.
Dust and vacuum.
Then, tackle the bathrooms.
End of day - success will look like this - a clean, refreshing house.
Go!

Me: how long do you estimate this will take me? total cleaning???

Sister:I would plan on an all day event...especially if you are going to do major deep cleaning. Do take one break in the morning before you start for a motivating foo-foo drink, one break for a healthy lunch.

You should make a to-do list that you can cross things off throughout the day. That always keeps me motivated and focused.

I love days like this. Love.

End of conversation.

Clean fridge. Thank God for clean fridges. Who knew??
